There is a 2nd World War V1
rocket launch ramp close to the Chateau. Its position and those of other ramps
was logged by a French Resistance fighter Colonel Hollard who took the details
to England in 1943. Hollard was decorated by the British and named “The man who
saved London” by Churchill. Using Hollard’s data the
RAF bombed the ramp, causing some significant damage to the Chateau in the
