OUR ACTIVITIES
Engagement and initiatives for the Dieppe-Newhaven line
TUG Horizon is actively committed to the promotion and defence of the Dieppe-Newhaven line. Through fun events, lobbying and exclusive publications, our association brings together enthusiasts and users of this historic link.
From our English Apéritifs to our meetings with local representatives, our publication of the Livre de la Ligne (a comprehensive look at the history of the line) and our updated TUG Guide, we are taking multiple initiatives to valorise, improve and preserve this essential crossing.
English Apéritif
On the first Friday of each month (except August) we organise a fun apéritif in the style and atmosphere of a British pub where we practice and improve our English.
Our book retracing the history of the line
Pierre Launay has written an extraordinary book on the history of the line. You will discover almost all the passenger vessels to have sailed between Dieppe, Newhaven and Brighton.
Functions
TUG’s associative functions include its annual general meeting, numerous board meetings and specialised committees.
Presence at meetings of the SMPAT
The Syndicat Mixte de Promotion de l’Activité Transmanche (SMPAT) was created by the Seine-Maritime department in October 2000 to renew the maritime link between Dieppe and Newhaven following the disengagement of private operators.
Meetings with local representatives, the port authorities, DFDS, etc.
Recent examples include our lobbying for a bus shuttle service from the Dieppe terminal to the town centre.
